B-Cool
B-Cool was a community forum jointly founded by Robert Dennington and Michael Denny in April 2006. The site was hosted by Clic!Dev free forum hosting, and was located at www.bcool.ukfun.com and bcool.clicdev.com. It became the legal property of RJD Enterprise Solutions in July 2006, who chose to close down the site in September of that year and replace it with the RJD B-Cool Community Forums (now known as Ginever.net).
The name, a stylised version of the phrase "Be cool", was chosen as a direct reference to b-live, a company who had recently visited S. Peter's Collegiate School to do an adverising presentation and distribute CDs, and who were directly responsible for inspiring the duo to create the website in the first place. In an attempt to make the logo similar to that of b-live, the font Bauhaus 93 was used for the 'b', and a circular dot was added to the center of it using Microsoft Paint. The motto of the site was "The place to hang out at weekends".
For the duration of B-Cool's existance, Robert Dennington identified himself using the aliases mr-cool and purple in order to help keep his identity a secret from the general public. Michael Denny identified himself as m1key.
During its operation, co-administrator Michael Denny was directly responsible for the creation of many advertising materials, including the popular breakout clone B-Cool Breakout and a series of merchandise sold by CafePress.com.
B-Cool was, for a short time, responsible for the promotion of Dude: The Robot.
When the site closed down, the name B-Cool was recycled and used to create the B-Cool Family, which the replacement RJD B-Cool Community Forums site became part of. Michael Denny was appointed as deputy administrator, a position which he continued to fill for several months. The B-Cool Family name was used by RJD Enterprise Solutions to identify its ring of affiliates until the formation of the Ginever Alliance in the latter half of 2009.
